6 events,Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. Caregiving can be a 24-hours a day/7-days a week job. Caring for a senior with Alzheimer’s or a child with special needs can be non-stop. Providing care around the clock can crowd out other important areas of life. And you never know when you will need to rush to the hospital or leave work at the drop of a hat. It’s about how you live. This is the theme for November’s National Hospice and Palliative Care Month 2017. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema, is a chronic lung disease that makes it hard to breathe. The disease is increasingly common, affecting millions of Americans, and is the third leading cause of death in the U.S. AHCJ members are invited to participate in a free online demo of the LexisNexis news archives, which journalists use to research subjects and find sources for their work. The webinar is being offered as part of a deal to get discounted access to LexisNexis, a program for AHCJ members arranged in partnership with the Contently Foundation, a New York nonprofit for investigative reporting.
