Be part of the Global Health Conference of the Americas 2021 that will take place from December 2 to 5 in Cartagena, Colombia. The pandemic has caused disruption around the world, and the global health community has had to adapt and respond to the growing needs of vulnerable populations. The Poynter Institute will be holding an online workshop in November for journalists of color who would like to build skills for writing opinion pieces and personal essays.

Journalists reporting on environmental issues, which often impact health, in Tribal communities may overlook or ignore important Native voices. In this two-day virtual workshop sponsored by the Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources on environmental racism and Indigenous communities, journalists will hear from experts about the history of environmental racism in Native nations, how Tribal members are working to protect water sources, common missteps journalists make when covering Indigenous communities and more. This workshop is limited to 25 participants.
