Journalism Workshop on Health Information Technology

Health IT workshop

Health IT holds promises to give individuals more control over their own health, help physicians make more informed care decisions and improve the overall health of populations. And it holds promises for local stories – covering business, policy, public health, research and more.

AHCJ’s Journalism Workshop on Health Information Technology will give journalists a look at the roles of government, the tech industry, health care providers and – last but not least – consumers.

Protecting Patients from Surprise Medical Bills

The Schaeffer Initiative for Innovation in Health Policy will release a white paper on this topic, “Solving Surprise Medical Bills,” and host an event bringing together representatives from health systems, insurers, and consumer advocacy groups, as well as policymakers and experts, to discuss solutions to comprehensively reduce surprise billing scenarios and resolve disputes over reimbursement for out-of-network care. The Schaeffer Initiative is a collaboration between the USC Schaeffer Center and the Center for Health Policy at Brookings.

Health journalism saves lives.

Everyone should have access to quality health care information so they can make informed decisions. Join AHCJ today for exclusive access to training and education to inform your community.
