Seven journalists have been selected for the Association of Health Care Journalists’ inaugural Fellowship on Women’s Health, to be held in Washington, D.C., in early November.
The fellowship program was created in collaboration with the U.S. Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health to increase understanding of – and the ability to report more clearly on – health issues often unique to women.
The fellowship is aimed at boosting the ability of consumer and trade journalists to report more accurately, seek out more in-depth stories and to make better use of often-underutilized resources in their efforts to inform the public. The Association of Health Care Journalists is accepting applications for the 2020 AHCJ Reporting Fellowships on Health Care Performance. The program, in its 10th year, is meant to help journalists understand and report on the performance of local health care markets and the U.S. health system as a whole.
Thirteen journalists have been selected for the 2019 class of the AHCJ Fellowship on Comparative Effectiveness Research. The fellowship program was created with support from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to help reporters and editors produce more accurate, in-depth stories on medical research and how treatment decisions are made.
