The health care and policy communities have been discussing health equity for more than a decade, but race and ethnicity continue to negatively influence a patient’s chance of receiving many specific health care procedures and treatments—even when insurance status, income and education are equal.
Community alliances leading the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) initiative will explore this topic and present lessons for improving equity in health care.
