U.S. Surgeon General to speak on nation’s health care

The American Podiatric Medical Association is holding its 100th Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, D.C. Scheduled speakers include U.S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin, M.D., M.B.A.; speaker/comedian David Glickman; and dozens of expert podiatrists in the fields of diabetes care, foot and ankle surgery, barefoot running, children’s foot health, and more. Nearly 2,000 member podiatrists, their families, exhibitors, and medical staff are registered to attend this premier foot and ankle conference.

Benjamin will speak at the meeting’s opening session, Thursday, Aug. 16, from 11 a.m.-noon ET. Educational sessions, panel discussions and presentations will run Aug. 16-19.

APMA, headquartered in Bethesda, MD, is the nation’s leading professional organization for doctors of podiatric medicine (DPMs) with more than 12,000 members.
