WebMD’s 2013 Affordable Care Act Coverage

We knew going into 2013 that we were going to have a lot of confused readers trying to understand the complex world of health insurance and the Health Policy law because of the Affordable Care Act. Our news plan included consumer-oriented, news-you-can-use stories. The type of stories changed as people went from being confused before healthcare.gov launched, to frustrated and angry in the aftermath (and still confused.) Randy’s stories illustrate this “news you can use” approach. Using a conversational style, Randy helped readers understand a range of topics related to the law: from changes that might be coming to their employer health insurance to the plight of Navigators trying to help people use a broken website. He also helped readers understand what they needed to do, and where they could get help if they were trying to enroll. At the end of the day, this is the information readers needed most. Randy’s stories include: How ACA Might Change Employer Plans How Navigators Dealt with Healthcare.gov Problems 7 Tips to Get Enrolled in Marketplace Insurance 6 Changes to the Affordable Care Act
