A new, more powerful tranquilizer on Philly streets is causing the worst complications some doctors have seen yet among opioid users. Emergency room doctors at three area health systems collected data on patients who had experienced severe withdrawal symptoms that didn’t respond to treatment for opioid and xylazine withdrawal.
