Sarah Jane Tribble’s look at the prevalence of football injuries among high school athletes highlighted the seriousness of concussions, as well as their frequency. Her interview with one of those standing to benefit most from the Affordable Care Act humanized the story, and got beyond the straight policy or political aspects heard about the ACA to that point. Tribble’s look at the potential threats of spinal alignment caused by school children’s backpacks was provocative and informative, while her segment on patient satisfaction (hospital noise being a popular factor) took a novel look at one of the ACA’s more immediate provisions for hospitals and medical clinics that could affect their bottom line.
