The burgeoning field of Medical Humanities integrates the creative and performing arts into direct patient care, medical education, and staff development. The three feature articles highlighted Medical Humanities programs in an academic medical center, a cancer hospital, and a public healthcare system. In each setting, creative arts contributed to humanizing the experience of illness, providing new venues for understanding and expression, and often contributed to greater connection, renewal, or forms of healing.
