The story provides an overview of the threat still posed by lead paint in homes, particularly during renovations, even though lead paint has been banned for home use for 30 years. We profile several families whose lives have been affected by lead poisoning. In addition, we contacted 200 service providers who work with lead paint and discovered that more than a third were dangerously unaware of how to safely work with lead paint.
