The study of sexuality -and especially sexual dysfunction -as a medical topic was given impetus by the advent of Viagra and similar drugs. Researchers are trying hard to come up with solutions for women, as well. But little is known, and there is a risk that the medicalization of “female sexual dysfunction” will help drug companies and scientific careers more than it will benefit suffering women.
