As a Kaiser Fellow, I explored the rapidly growing but little understood field of palliative care in a variety of settings. The four articles submitted represent four facets .-inpatient palliative care in a large urban hospital, including the ICU, outpatient care combined with a profile of the leading national advocate for palliative care; pediatric palliative care and changing state policy, and medical education.
