When medical marijuana was introduced in Colorado, many people saw it as a chance for pot heads to find a chance to legally get marijuana. One mother saw it as a chance to help cure her daughter, Charlotte, who suffers from debilitating epilepsy. Responses from her daughter, and video of Charlotte both before and after taking medical marijuana show that that her condition has improved since she started taking a strain that is low in THC. Though the “cure” she has found is far from proven medical fact, Charlotte’s results have given other parents with epileptic children hope and many have traveled to Colorado Springs for treatment. The laws surrounding medical marijuana are a minefield however and many of these families are left battling legal issues and are unable to return home because they won’t be able to take the treatment with them.
