As the baby boomer generation ages, the medical profession faces a new challenge: How to care for an incresingly older population. But compared with other physicians, doctors who specialize in geriatric care are less well compensated and don’t have the bragging rights of a “sexy” career field.

Joseph G. Ouslander, M.D., professor of clinical biomedical science and associate dean for geriatric programs at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University, discusses reasons young doctors should seek speacialization as geriatricians. See his presentation.
