Health and Aging Journalism Fellowship
Applications are currently closed.

AHCJ, with the support of the John A. Hartford Foundation, provides financial assistance to journalists who wish to attend AHCJ’s annual conference. Fellowships are open to full-time print, broadcast and online journalists and part-timers or freelancers who derive the majority of their income from journalism.
For Health Journalism 2026, fellows will be selected from the Gerontological Society of America and slots for this fellowship will not be open at this time.
Fellowship includes:
- Conference registration
- One year’s membership in AHCJ (new or extended)
- Up to four nights hotel (Tuesday to Friday nights, leaving Saturday)
- Travel assistance within the continental U.S.
- We budget approximately $500 for an economy flight and ground transportation. If selected as a fellow and $500 is not sufficient to travel to Minneapolis, please contact Susan Cunningham, AHCJ’s event manager, at susan@healthjournalism.org prior to booking.
