Three members of the Cincinnati Enquirer staff will discuss how they reported, edited, and produced the Pulitzer Prize-winning “Seven Days of Heroin” special report. About this project, the Pulitzer judges said the Enquirer staff produced, “a riveting and insightful narrative and video documenting seven days of greater Cincinnati’s heroin epidemic, revealing how the deadly addiction has ravaged families and communities.”

Terry DeMio is the heroin epidemic reporter for The Cincinnati Enquirer. She was the lead reporter and co-writer on “Seven Days of Heroin.” She has multiple awards for her groundbreaking work from major press associations and from agencies that cover the epidemic. Her recent work includes “Saving Dominique,” the saga of a Northern Kentucky trucker’s quest to help his 18-year-old daughter escape addiction.

Dan Horn covers special projects, government and features for The Cincinnati Enquirer. He’s worked more than 25 years in journalism, writing about prison riots, hurricanes and floods, financial meltdowns, City Hall corruption, serial killers, foster kids, pornographers, presidential candidates and a professional wrestler named Shark Boy. In addition to “Seven Days of Heroin,” his recent work includes “Finding Her Way,” a story about a year in the life of a teenager lost in the foster care system, and a series of stories about millions of misspent tax dollars at the Metropolitan Sewer District.

Amy Wilson is the storytelling coach for The Cincinnati Enquirer and editor of the Pulitzer Prize-winning “Seven Days of Heroin.” An award-winning writer, Wilson has more 30 years of experience as a general assignment feature writer for The Orange County (CA) Register, the Detroit Free Press, the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and the Lexington Herald-Leader. She is also the editor of the Enquirer’s true crime podcast, Accused.
