Want to learn how to craft a public records request, find records on deadline, or use data to give your storytelling some oomph?
The sixth-annual FOIAFest will be Feb. 24 at Loyola University Chicago. The daylong conference features panels and training sessions on everything from finding records hidden in plain sight to analyzing data for hard-hitting investigations.
Journalists will break down their stories, including how they discovered the vast inequity of the Cook County property tax system. A panel will even shed light on what’s in store for access to public information when Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan leaves office.
