NAS Health Literacy Workshop

The National Academies of Sciences’ Health and Medicine Division releases a commissioned paper at a day-long workshop on the impact of health literacy. The event, entitled “Building the Case for Health Literacy,” will also include “presentations and discussion of issues related to the effect of health literacy interventions on health and health care costs, quality, behaviors, outcomes, and other areas as appropriate.”

Speakers include representatives from health insurance company UnitedHealth and pharmaceutical companies Merck and Eli Lilly as well as Johns Hopkins Health Centers, Arkansas Department of Health and others. The event will be held at the National Academy of Sciences.
