Haskins, who served in the second Bush Administration, will discuss initiatives aimed at promoting strong families and expand opportunity, while Sawhill, who served in the Clinton Administration, will address the rise of single parenting.

Haskins will continue the lecture with remarks on evidence-based initiatives, including those in the Obama administration, that promote strong families and expand opportunity.

The lecture, sponsored by American Academy of Political and Social Science and SAGE Publishing, will be held in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill at 1:30 p.m.
