Science informs the decisions that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration makes every day about a wide range of products, from foods to complex medical devices to life-saving drugs. On Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, the FDA will hold its fourth Science Writers Symposium, a special event intended to engage and inform science and health journalists about how the agency is applying scientific approaches to critical public health issues.
Please save the date for this event, to be held at our White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Md.
The free, all-day symposium will feature lab tours and scientific presentations on timely, research-based topics. Attendees will be able to discuss the agency’s scientific research with staff from various FDA Centers and Offices, including our two featured speakers, Acting FDA Commissioner Stephen Ostroff, M.D, and Acting Chief Scientist, Luciana Borio, M.D.
