What is it really like to be a family caregiver for someone with dementia or serious illness? What are some of the key issues that aren’t being discussed? And how can journalists better bring untold caregiver stories to light?

Join us on Tuesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT), for “Family Caregiving: View from the front row” with:

  • Kathleen Kelly, executive director, National Center on Caregiving, Family Caregiver Alliance, the first community-based nonprofit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care for loved ones at home]

  • Karen Garner, wife, mother, and caregiver to a husband diagnosed at age 48 with younger-onset Alzheimer’s

  • Sally Abrahms, award-winning writer and blogger on boomers and caregiving for AARP and other media – who will speak about her work and also provide insight as a primary family caregiver for the past 14 years.

  • Liz Seegert, AHCJ’s topic leader on aging, will moderate the discussion.

There will be plenty of time for the speakers to address questions from the participants.
