At this media briefing, leading researchers will present new findings on various topics regarding obesity:
- What effect may a manufactured chemical commonly found in consumer products have on the risk of obesity in children and teens?
- What are the long-term effects of gastric bypass surgery on weight loss and conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol levels ?
- Does a certain type of body fat increase the risk for diabetes?
- What should be the role of government and the food industry in reducing the excess consumption of calories?
