The seventh annual Great Plains Emerging Infectious Diseases Conference will take place March 29-30, 2018, at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. This conference brings together public health professionals, researchers, faculty, and students in microbiology, infectious diseases and related fields working in the Great Plains and Midwestern states.
Major topics may include but are not limited to zoonotic and vector-borne diseases, global health, healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial resistance, molecular diagnostics and epidemiology, public health preparedness, and science communication.
Keynote speakers: Dr. Richard Webby, on “Current influenza threats,” and Dr. Bobbi Pritt, on “Ticks, Teamwork and Emerging Pathogens.”
