Navigating the Global Health Beat

An evening seminar sponsored by New England Science Writers and the Nieman Foundation will discuss how to turn renewed interest in global public health issues into stories that entice editors and engage readers. The seminar will be held at 7 pm Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Nieman headquarters on Harvard's Cambridge campus (Walter Lippmann House). The event is free to interested journalists and communicators.

Panelists are:

David Kohn, staff writer, The (Baltimore) Sun and a 2007 Nieman fellow in Global Health Reporting

Harro Albrecht, medical writer & editor, German newsweekly Die Zeit, and a 2007 Nieman Fellow in Global Health Reporting

Phil Hilts, award-winning health and science reporter and author, and on the science journalism faculty at Boston University

Christine Gorman, Time Magazine contributor and 2008 Nieman Fellow in Global Health Reporting
