My near-weekly “Road to Reform” column tracked ACA implementation, with a focus on California. I helped spotlight national enrollment numbers, explain the reality behind several Obamacare myths, and profile individual organizations that were affected by Health Policy—or effecting it on the ground. For example, “A Dozen Hospitals Are Laying Off Staff and Blaming Obamacare. Don’t Believe Them” looked at national trends on hospital layoffs, and delved into several organizations’ balance statements. The column “Aetna and United Are Out of California. Who’s Moving In?” went beyond the headlines that big insurers were pulling out of the state market to focus on the new market entrants.
