In Hot Mama, we reveal the surprising findings of our “The Truth About Sex and Working Moms” survey. In contrast to the way working mothers are most often portrayed in the media—as frazzled, stress cases with a fine coating of Cheerio dust and a permanent “not tonight” headache—our results highlight just how important sex is to them. In fact, 71 percent of working mom respondents said they have sex at least two to three times a month and 51 percent have it at least once a week. Also surprising: 63 percent reported wanting more sex. Given all the mental and physical health benefits of intercourse, our feature reinforces its importance to the overall well-being of women and tackles sexual issues that many women are too embarrassed to discuss. Additionally, experts interviewed for the piece comment on what’s normal in terms of frequency, fantasy, dirty talk, sex toys and porn and foreplay. The article also shines a light on the health benefits of sex including: exercise, pain relief and stress relief. All of which are especially vital to moms who work. The conclusion: Hot mama equals healthy mama.
