Reporter Tracy Correa told of her physical and emotional struggle with breast cancer, a disease that afflicts one in seven women. The story took readers through her journey — from diagnosis, to two surgeries to remove cancerous tissue, and ultimately, radiation. It also waded through the fear that Tracy and so many other women with breast cancer deal with after learning their bodies have betrayed them. The story also touches on how, even after what appears to be successful treatment, the overwhelming fear that the cancer will return never goes away. Tracy used her story to draw readers in, but also wrote of four other women who have also struggled with the disease and are alive today.
