Crystal methamphetamine, which has replaced cocaine as the most abused stimulant in Long Beach, is also fueling the spread of HIV and AIDS. Stories looked at the scope of the porblem, the psychology behind the drug’s appeal, the role of Internet dating and sex sites, law enforcement, treatment and finally, potential solutions, The series also includes a narrative profile of an HIV-positive individual struggling with his addiction to crystal meth.
