Cassie Sauer (vice president, communications, Washington State Hospital Association) came to Health Journalism 2009‘s panel on “Bioethics for journalists: Communicating the tough cases” to deliver a presentation concerning “Washington State’s death with dignity act.” Sauer described the details of the act, which took effect in March 2009, and then gave reporters tips for covering the story and others like it while putting the whole discussion into perspective.
