At Health Journalism 2009, Mark Doescher (M.D., M.S.P.H.., director, Office of Rural Health Care, School of Public Health, University of Washington) presented on "The Crisis in rural primary care" as part of the "Identifying and addressing medically underserved areas." Doescher's presentation used a collection of statistics and projections to paint a clear picture of the scope of the rural care crisis, and suggested some possible solutions.
