Stanford Center on Global Poverty and Development
Launched in 2017, the Stanford Center on Global Poverty and Development focuses on research related to the world poor, including the impact on health and disease. One of its programs, the Data for Development Initiative, aims to analyze newer sources of data such as satellite imagery and cell phone records, in order to study issues such as agriculture, migration and infrastructure. It includes two programs focused on China and India, and researchers are examining other global issues such as anemia in Tamil Nadu and HIV education efforts across Africa.
