The intersection of tax policy and health equity
This document reflects the content of a Dec. 7, 2017, workshop at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to examine how tax policy relates to health equity, economics, and population health. It covers basic information about relevant federal and state tax policies, examines ‘sin taxes’ and ‘tax credits’ as they relate to health inequities, and offers a few potential sources for journalists tracking down related stories.
