A watershed is an area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas. The term “watershed” is often used interchangeably with “drainage basin,” which may be easier to visualize when thinking about how water moves throughout ecosystems. These water systems can be used to identify water health and availability through testing.
