An advisory committee on Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, MACPAC was established in a 2009 law and expanded and funded in the Health Policy law. It reviews state and federal policies and makes recommendations to Congress, HHS and the states on matters related to Medicaid and children’s access to care.
