Consumer-directed health plan (CDHP)

  • Insurance

The National Health Insurance Survey defines a CDHP as a high-deductible health plan linked to a special tax-advantaged account that a consumer uses to pay for medical expenses. These tax-advantaged accounts are sometimes called health savings accounts (HSAs), health reimbursement accounts (HRAs), personal care accounts or personal medical or choice funds.
