Certified Organic

  • Environmental Health

The organic label that the USDA certifies indicates that a product meets their organic standards. In order to receive the certification, farm operations must practice resource cycling, conserving biodiversity and promote ecological equilibrium by planting a diversity of plant species. The USDA enforces these standards by testing soil and regularly checking on farms to confirm quality assurance for consumers. The process of turning a farm operation into an organic farm takes about three years to fully amend the soil.
