This track is one of two under Medicare’s Community Health Access and Rural Transformation (CHART) Model for rural hospitals. Under this track, rural hospitals could become accountable care organizations under the Medicare Shared Savings Program to accept the financial risk for the total amount spent on Medicare beneficiaries. In exchange, these hospitals would get advanced shared savings payments rather than waiting until savings are generated. (See also: the Chart Model and the Community Transformation Track.)
