The Wein Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders at Mt. Sinai Medical Center Miami Beach presents the 12th Mild Cognitive Impairment Symposium; 3rd Early Alzheimer’s Diagnostic & Treatment Workshop; 2nd Alzheimer’s Public Educational Forum
Separate workshops for practitioners, researchers and for the general public will provide updates on practice and potential in diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s disease with particular focus on amyloid ß.
MCI Symposium:
The symposium’s theme will be centered on the influence of amyloid deposition, neurodegeneration and other risk factors on cognitive and functional changes across the MCI spectrum. In particular, the symposium will focus on (a) Correlates of Brain Aβ Deposition and Neurodegeneration in Normal and Abnormal Aging, and (b) Approaches to Measuring Cognitive and Functional Change Across the MCI Spectrum.
Early Alzheimer’s Disease Workshop:
The workshop will present “Diagnostic Case Studies of Preclinical AD, MCI-AD and Probable AD”. Cases with concordant and discordant biomarkers and clinical results will be discussed. Several cases with follow-up to autopsy will be included.
Early Alzheimer Public Education Forum:
The Early Alzheimer’s Public Educational Forum is intended for at-risk family members, caregivers, the public at large and professionals. This educational segment will focus on “The role of Amyloid Imaging in the Diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment” and will aim to provide information about the latest research in the field. The forum will allow the audience to interact with top scientists in the field in the presence of a moderator.
