The Kaiser Family Foundation and the American Hospital Association’s (AHA’s) Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) will hold their annual reporters-only web briefing on Wednesday, September 14 at 11 a.m. ET, to release their benchmark 2016 Employer Health Benefits Survey.
The 18th annual Kaiser/HRET survey provides a detailed look at the current state of employer-based coverage and trends in private health insurance for both large and small firms, including average premiums for workers and employers and their rate of increase; the share of firms of different sizes offering health benefits; average deductibles, drug co-payments and other cost-sharing; and the use of financial incentives tied to wellness programs.
The survey also provides insight into how employers are adapting to the Affordable Care Act’s employer requirements to offer coverage and preparing for the law’s “Cadillac” tax, which could affect relatively high-cost health plans starting in 2020.
Drew Altman, president and CEO of the Kaiser Family Foundation; Ken Anderson, D.O., M.S., CPE, chief operating officer at HRET; long-time study director Gary Claxton, a Kaiser vice president; and Matthew Rae, a study co-author and Kaiser senior policy analyst, will participate.
