Vaccines for Young Adults

A webinar from the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) is holding a webinar on Vaccines for Young Adults by Carol J. Baker, M.D., NFID past-president and professor of pediatrics and molecular virology and microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine. Baker will discuss important vaccines recommended for young adults, including the meningococcal and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, and she will answer questions about the new meningococcal B and 9-valent HPV vaccine recommendations.

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  •     Interpret HPV infection outcomes and rationale for use of preventive HPV vaccines
  •     Evaluate current data regarding HPV vaccine safety and efficacy
  •     Review recent Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meningococcal vaccine recommendations for healthy and high-risk individuals
  •     Develop plans for the use of meningococcal and HPV vaccines in their clinic/practice
