At 1:30 p.m. EDT on March 25, the Self-Sufficiency Research Clearinghouse will host a free webinar, in which speakers will present on the evolving role of federal nutrition program use at local farmers markets, efforts to increase participation of low-income families in these community events, and the benefits and challenges of accepting public assistance benefits for market vendors.
The speakers will also discuss their experiences evaluating the impact of farmers markers on the lives of low-income individuals and whether participation in farmers markets has resulted in any measurable changes in dietary behaviors and health outcomes for public assistance participants.
