The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will host a special web event Feb. 25. Viewers will learn about the new scientific report from the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC), released last week. The report will help inform updates to U.S. dietary guidelines, but it has left some consumers confused.
The widely reported results have caused some people to wonder exactly what changes the committee is recommending – but more importantly, why? You may have heard reports that now “eggs are OK to eat” or “high sugar diets are just as bad for you as high saturated fat diets.” By hearing directly from the scientists involved in putting together this report, this event will help you understand how to eat a healthier diet using the latest scientific information.
Presenters include Dr. Barbara Millen, chairperson of the DGAC and additional members of the DGAC, including Frank Hu, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard Chan School.
