Reporting Sex Trafficking: Local Problem with Global Dimensions

The UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication, in partnership with the Robert R. McCormick Foundation and The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, is proud to announce a new McCormick Specialized Reporting Institute, “Reporting Sex Trafficking: Local Problem with Global Dimensions.”

This free workshop is designed for professional journalists from all fields of the media to learn more about this increasingly important problem and to provide the tools and approaches necessary to recognize, understand and report sex trafficking in their communities.  It will educate reporters to cover issues of sex trafficking responsibly and accurately in an effort to raise this international issue in the public’s awareness.

When: Thursday, Nov. 14 to Saturday, Nov. 16. 

Where: UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Cost: Successful applicants will have their travel and accommodation costs paid for.
