A new report from the Institute of Medicine explores the impacts of residents' duty hours and workloads and offers recommendations to optimize the delivery of safe, high-quality care and the training of residents to become effective independent health practitioners. The report will be released at a one-hour public briefing.
The briefing will take place at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the Holeman Lounge of the National Press Club, 529 14th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. Reporters who cannot attend may listen to a live audio webcast and submit questions using an e-mail form at www.national-academies.org.
