This two-day conference, one in an annual series devoted to ethical issues in population and global health, will examine the ethics of new strategies for health promotion currently under development in the United States and in developing countries. The goal of the conference is to identify potential ethical pitfalls of these interventions so that ethical problems and controversies do not reduce their potential benefit for population health.

This year's conference is a collaborative effort between the Harvard Program in Ethics and Health, Harvard's Safra Center for Ethics, and the World Bank. Speakers are drawn from academia, government, NGOs, industry, and labor.
