National Older Americans Month honors the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA). The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has announced “Get into the Act” as its theme for Older Americans Month this May.
Signed into law in 1965, the OAA established the nationwide aging services network, and this year Older Americans Month continues the push for elderly empowerment by focusing on how older adults are taking charge of their health, getting engaged in their communities, and making a positive impact in the lives of others.
