The National Health Care for the Homeless Council USA hosts a four-day conference aimed at weighing a variety of health issues affecting the homeless population, including medical respite car and the opioid crisis.
The Minneapolis-based event, National Health Care for the Homeless Conference & Policy Symposium, includes site visits as well as sessions on gathering data, community coalitions, early childhood screening, insurance coverage, LGBT health issues and more. Howard Pinderhughes, head of the University of California, San Francisco’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences and author of Race in the Hood: Conflict and Violence Among Urban Youth, delivers the opening keynote address.
