Everyday we hear about the impact that rising healthcare costs have on the nation, communities, and individuals. For example, a recent survey indicated that 44 percent of Americans didn’t see a physician last year when they were sick or injured due to high healthcare costs. NRHI’s first National Affordability Summit explored the question of why healthcare costs so much and what we can do about it. This event will dig deeper – exploring how three key issues − health, price, & waste − influence the affordability of healthcare. We will highlight regional success stories from those who are working to impact affordability in their markets.
More than 200 health care practitioners, policy makers, consumers and health plan representatives will gather to discuss the actions, changes and political will needed to bring down health care costs.
