The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine hosts “Limiting Sugar-Sweetened Beverage Consumption in Young Children,” a two-day workshop examining policies and programs aimed at curbing the consumption of sugary drinks by young children. Panelists will evaluate federal, state, and local efforts to reduce consumption among youth age 5 and younger. Panelists will also discuss the role of social equity and health disparities on such drink consumption, including income, geography, lifestyle and ethnicity, NAS said. The event will be held at NAS headquarters in Washington, D.C, as well as online via webcast.
